REVIEW: Quaglino’s

SW1 plays host to a number of iconic restaurants but one jewel of St James’ has to be Quaglino’s. This art-decor setting instantly allures glamour and is ideal for any occasion. Be it a client meeting, drinks date, or a lunch time tipple, you can enjoy a no fuss three course set menu with a glass of bubbles for just £30.

Currently under the ownership of the D&D group, Quaglino’s has transformed into a relaxed and stylish late night bar while also serving the finest quality dishes.

The menu at Quaglino’s is a twist on modern European food from earl grey cured salmon to squash veloute. Our aubergine starter with mixed pulse was spicy and seedy, while the lean venison tartare was fine in texture but strong in flavor!

The hearty braised daube of beef with roast onion and celeriac mash was a real Christmas warmer and full of meaty flavor. The seared tuna with salsa verde could have done with an extra citrus kick, but this was still a fresh and light main option, with roasted pine nuts adding a nutty flavor and texture.

Finished with a extensive cheese board and a perfect Crème brûlée. The restaurant is currently offering an array of pre-theatre and bottomless brunch promotions, if the satisfying prices don’t lure you in, its no doubt you wont be disappointed by the food itself!
