Having previously been a regular site at KERB, this Kansas City Barbecue joint has opened it’s first bricks and mortar restaurant in White City. If barbecued meat is your thing, then this is the place to go!
Set in the railway arches right by Wood Lane station, and they’ve taken up two arches. One side is the restaurant, the other a tap room where they have a huge range of beers available. From a Belgian Dubbel to a Milkshake IPA, the options are endless, from both a barrel and available in bottles or cans.
The slow cooked meat is something to die for, both the 16 hour oak smoked beef brisket and the 14 hour applewood smoked pulled pork just fall apart and the smokey flavours, from being cooked on wood, shining through. But it doesn’t stop there, the sides are an important part to this place. A must order are the Cheesy Tots. Somehow these little balls of goodness keep you wanting to go back for more even after consuming most of the menu! The onion rings are also delicious, they’ve got the crispiness down to a tee with these!
Despite the main focus of the restaurant meat, they haven’t left out all the non-meat eaters. There was an extensive vegan menu (it was Veganuary after all) and some vegetarian options available on the menu. They also have their own range of BBQ sauces that have won Great Taste awards and are available to buy at the restaurant.
What we ate:
Hicory Smoked Chicken Wings, with BBQ and Buffalo Sauce, and a Blue Cheese Dip
The KC classic, Hot Carolina, Seasoned Fries, Cheesy Tots, Beer Battered Rings and Tangy Slaw
Our thoughts:
For meat lovers this is a must. The range of dishes on the menu is huge making deciding what to have very hard. But when it comes to it I don’t think there’s anything on the menu that would disappoint. The setting is great, and the service even better. What’s not to like!
