What?
A combustion modern Indian and other contemporary cuisines brought to us by The Hungry Chef founder Pratap Chahal’s and Vic Singh.
Where?
Taking home on the old Arbutus site on Frith Street in Soho.
The Vibes?
Flavour Bastard’s design has been overseen by renowned interior design studio AfroditiKrassa and features a 20-seater bronze bar. The venues is also flush with luscious suaves of purple and burgundy.
What we ate?
Expect a ‘journey of flavours’ we have been told. So setting off on this journey we voyaged into uncharted territory with dishes such as the smoked goat with mergrate and frankinsense, and octupus sevred with passionfruit, avocado, chipotle, kohlrabi.
We loved the meatless Miso & mango glazed aubergine, peanut-buckwheat crumble.
What we drank?
Choose from the electric cocktail list. Our favourite was the Gin based Trifolium, with an extra punch of El Gobenador Pisco, Regal Rogue Rosé Vermouth, Raspberry, Rosemary, Lemon, Egg White, Peychaud’s Bitters.
We recommend?
Bobby dazzler, a take on aloo chaat; roast sweet potato with with fennel-flavoured yoghurt, sunflower seeds, with coriander and chillied popcorn.
Our Thoughts?
Well executed playful take on fine dining, Flavour Bastard meets the hype for us!
