Miss Jones’ top picks for London Cocktail week

Coolest Cocktail

Where?

Worship street wishing shop, Shoreditch.

Our Favourite?

We rate the exploded Martini, containing everyone’s favourite ingredient: high pressure hydrosol.

Why we Love it :

The team behind Pearl, the ‘outstanding Georgian basement gin palace come speakeasy’  create an atmosphere that fuses Victorian and Dickensian drinking culture with the same dynamic bar tending techniques that have come to define Pearl. Perfect for a first date or a quirky work dinner with two private dining areas.

Date Night

Where?

Bourne and Hollingsworth buildings, Clerkenwell.

Our Favourite?

We went for the Eton Fizz made with Rathbone gin, muddled strawberries, lemon, honey, Greek yogurt and egg white. If you have taste for dessert-style drink then this is right up your street.

Why We Love it :

As soon as you walk in you’ll be taken back at just how bright and spacious B&H is. The grand piano and sweeping bar give the space an impressively retro aesthetic, reflected in its relaxed, fun atmosphere. Weather its a first date or you’re seasoned daters B&H won’t fail to impress.

Fun Fun Fun

Where?

Swingers City, Aldgate.

Our Favourite?

We went for  Bittersweet symphony. Belsazar white Vermouth, Orange bitters with Lemon and Orange juices certainly wake up the taste buds and relax the shoulders for a round of 18 (or 19).

Why We love it :

Swingers city speaks for itself on the fun front : boasting three restaurants, two golf courses and five (yes FIVE) bars, punters can easily get lost for hours in this labyrinth of grown up fun. The 16 thousand square feet venue is impressively tucked under the gherkin and is perfect for team building, birthday parties, festive celebration or just a fun night out.

Live music

Where?

100 Wardour Street, Soho.

Our Favourite?

The Hispano-A taste of Spain in Soho with chorizo-infused Gin, honey syrup, orange bitters and red wine. Pick it up with your Digital pass at LCW.

Why we love it :

Situated slap bang in the the middle of iconic Soho, 100 Wardour street breathes a classic entertainment atmosphere with live music 5 nights a week, previously housing icons such as David Bowie and the Stones. Between Tuesday and Saturday the music on offer ranges from soul, motown, dance and funk that diners can enjoy while eating their meal, perfect for a work night out or lunch with clients.

Hidden Gem

Where?

The Trading house, 89-91 Gresham Street, EC2V 7NQ.

Our Favourite?

We went for the legend of cocoa – Reposado Tequila, Crème de Cacao White, Lime Juice, Saffron and Chocolate Bitters. This bittersweet chocolate infused masterpiece is all yours for only £6 at LCW.

Why we love it :

The grade II listed building (that used to be a bank) has been transformed into a vast bar-restaurant masquerading as a Victorian colonial trading house. It’s charming Phileas Fogg theme is a treat for the senses and a classic, modestly priced menu ranging from scotch egg to chicken curry is a pleasant contrast to the corporate area of EC2.
