About
FIOL Prosecco DOC is an award-winning Italian Sparkling Wine inspired by the tradition, passion and
innovation of its founders – childhood friends Gian Luca Passi and Giovanni & Pietro Ciani Bassetti –
and their hometown of Treviso.
The History
Giovanni, Pietro and Gian Luca, grew up playing Rugby together amidst the vineyards of the Veneto
countryside before settling as adults in Hong Kong, London and New York. They have utilised their
rich historic knowledge of the local viniculture and have collaborated with a team of experts in the
fields of agriculture, wine-making and distribution, to create a refined and intuitive sparkling wine
that unites the secular tradition of Prosecco with the international vision of its founders.
Bringing together many years of experience in the worlds of high fashion, finance and the drinks
trade, in FIOL these founders have created a Prosecco that highlights the quality, history and
refinement of their region’s wines, but with the modern drinker in mind.
FIOL takes its name from an ancient Venetian word for ‘son’ or ‘boy’ that, in modern-day Treviso, is
used between friends to denote someone who really knows how to appreciate life and manages to
savour it at every opportunity – in essence, a Fiol is unequivocally cool.
Gian Luca- Founder
As well as being a founder of this wonderful prosecco, Gian Luca is a leading personality in the fashion and entertainment industry. He is PR Director for Events and Entertainment at Italian fashion house Moncler
We Stayed……
A beautiful Villa near Treviso which was perfectly located for our trip. Also has an outdoor pool which is the perfect place to relax in the afternoon.
What we did
Day 1 – Treviso
We arrived in Ca’ Bianchini to drop off our bags and freshen up!
We then made our way to Lunch at Terrazza San Tommaso in Treviso where we met Gian Luca, Giacomo and his team and to learn about FIOL!
We ate the most wonderful food including charcuterie boards, burrata and other anti pasti.
We then went to Villa Passi for tour of the house and vineyard where founder Gian Luca grew up!
Cocktail Masterclass
We enjoyed a Cocktail Masterclass with Armin Azadpour & Matt Pavan in Cloakroom Cocktail Lab.
Armin Azadpour is a famous mixologist who owns the bar Hunky Dory in Frankfurt and will be collaborating with FIOL to make some amazing cocktails! We got to try them and they were amazing!
Dinner
We then all sat down to dinner in Il Corder. A wonderful little restaurant in the heart of Treviso.
Day 2- Venice
Activity
Blown Glass session at Venini Glass on Murano
This was incredible to see and such a great way to kickstart the day!
We then took a boat and toured beautiful Venice
Lunch
We went to the fabulous Da Ivo! This tiny authentic Venetian restaurant is George Clooney’s favourite in Venice. We were lucky enough to experience it and it did not disappoint!
Dinner
That evening we got to dine in Gian Luca’s family home Villa Passi which was so nice! They host regular brunches there at the weekends so if you are in the area you must try it!
FIOL has been expertly crafted as the perfect drink for anyone who wants to live life to the full.
It has won multiple awards already including 2018: The Drinks Business Prosecco Masters, Gold Medal!
