Best Pankcakes in London

It’s that time of year, when it is totally acceptable to feast on sweet, savoury or totally sinful pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yes pancake Tuesday is one of my favourite dates in the food calendar, but why stop at just Tuesday. I know any excuse to get flippin’ is enough for me. But if your culinary skills don’t match with your eating skills, fear not, here are our top picks for pancakes in the city this month!

Jackson & Rye

For those who love the all-American fluffy pancakes, look no further then Jackson & Rye. The ideal fix for those who struggle to decide between sweet or savour, their Soho restaurant has a pancake brunch offering which includes bacon, blueberries and maple syrup. Another sweet/savoury combo for those who love a bit of monkey business is the caramelized bacon and banana stack.

Polo Bar

Once a place is known for its award winning pancakes, it’s hard not to resist. The pancakes at Polo Bar could be mistaken for show stopping deserts! With options from cookies and cream (an oreo overload!) to the New Yorker which is a pancake take on a New York cheese cake; piled with cream cheese, strawberries, and digestive biscuit.

My Old Dutch

How could we not mention London’s most renowned pancake house? My Old Dutch will more than likely have queues around the block on Pancake Tuesday, so perhaps avoid the Tuesday hype and call in when the buzz has died down. Expect big portion’s and classic style pancakes, slightly thicker than your typical French crepe. And the thoughtful people at My Old Dutch have now launched a range of gluten free pancakes!

The Breakfast Club

The breakfast Club really do appreciate that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Call into one of their seven branches and select something from the vast breakfast and brunch menus. Fried potatoes, sausage, and bacon on your pancake? why not! The breakfast club has no limits when it comes to fitting your pancake cravings!

Christopher’s

Pencil in a visit this weekend into this Covent Garden to experience Christopher’s guilty and guilt free weekend brunch. The build your own pancake menu gives you total pancake control! Guilty? go for buttermilk or for guilt free, opt for the buckwheat pancake. Either way, it would be a sin not to add a scoop of ice cream, with choices from salted caramel to matcha green tea, or coconut sorbet.
