Monte Carlo is la creme de la creme of the Cote D’Azur.
The Yacht Show happens once a year and creates such a buzz around the place. I had never been to Monaco before so attending the Yacht Show, I knew I would see Monte Carlo at it’s best.
You can get great cheap flights from London to Nice.
I flew British Airways- The flight was so pleasant. An hour and a half and you are there!
Once I touched down in Nice, I decided to treat myself and my mum and opt for the helicopter ride which goes to Monte Carlo from Nice Airport in 6 minutes.
I booked with HeliAir and cost €140 per person which was definitely well worth it!
The views of Monte Carlo are absolutely gorgeous when you fly in and you really get a feel for the city straight away although the weather was a bit foggy that day.
What to do:
Monte Carlo is 2km squared so you can get around by walking everywhere.
Definitely check out The Casino and the square to get your photo!
Visit the palace and get gorgeous view of Port Hercules.
I was here for The Yacht Show so this took up the majority of my days. If you attend the Yacht Show be prepared to walk so have some comfortable shoes if possible. A little tip I was given was there are little boat points which can bring you across to different sides of the port instead of having to keep walking back and forth.
Another tip is if you are on the hunt to charter or buy a yacht, you need to make appointments to see the yachts.
Do not eat in thereas you will pay triple for your food and coffees inside then out.
Where to Eat in Monaco
This has got to be hands down the nicest meal I had in Monaco.
I was lucky enough to be invited by a member to have lunch there during the yacht show. We had a gorgeous table looking over the sea with beautiful views.
They have this buffet which is just to die for. Nicest buffet I have ever had. Sushi, Sashimi, Salads, Fresh Fish and Meats, Loads of Veg, Fruit etc.
Everything was just fresh and delicious and along with the setting and a couple of Aperol Spritz’s I couldn’t of asked for a better lunch.
