One of September’s most anticipated openings, KID sees chef Sertaç Dirik, formerly of Mangal II, join forces with David Carter, the chef behind OMA, AGORA and Smokestak.
This is Dirik’s first solo venture, bringing together his Turkish heritage, British produce and influences from his time cooking in Copenhagen. Expect pide, tombik, homemade çökelek cheese and wood-oven cooking, with a wine room that doubles as a private dining space.
Taking over a three-storey townhouse near Notting Hill Gate, NAKIMUSHI brings together chefs Yuji Shimokawa Kelly and Robin Kosuge.
The ground floor will be home to Kosuge’s ramen bar, serving signatures including lobster ramen and charshu pork belly ramen, while upstairs offers a broader take on Japanese cooking from Shimokawa Kelly. There’s also a dedicated bar serving Shochu Highballs, making this one to keep on your radar for something a little different.
Following the success of its Stratford restaurant, Bamboo Mat is bringing its contemporary Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei dining to a much larger space in Canary Wharf’s Wood Wharf.
Across two floors, the 82-cover restaurant will feature a raw bar, cocktail bar, robata, sushi and hot kitchen. Expect premium sushi alongside Japanese classics with a Peruvian twist, including ceviche and tiradito, all within interiors inspired by Japanese precision and Peruvian energy.
International steakhouse Beefbar is taking over Dear Jackie at Broadwick Soho for its new UK flagship.
Already established in destinations including Monte Carlo and New York, Beefbar brings a more glamorous take on the traditional steakhouse, with Japanese Kobe and Australian Wagyu alongside lighter Riviera-inspired dishes. The London menu will also introduce new creations, including Ispahan Bloom and Chilean sea bass with rosewater, lychee and raspberry.
Acclaimed chef, broadcaster and author Romy Gill MBE is taking the reins at The Pem at Conrad London St. James, bringing her personal take on the regional flavours of India.
Designed for sharing, the menu draws on Romy’s heritage and travels, from the coastal kitchens of Bengal and Kerala to Punjab and Rajasthan. It’s a new chapter for the established Westminster dining room, combining Romy’s distinctive culinary voice with The Pem’s welcoming, refined setting.
Bringing a little taste of the French Riviera to Mayfair, Le Café LPM will take up a year-long residency at The Lanesborough from September.
The new standalone concept from La Petite Maison will offer an all-day menu of coffee, pâtisserie and elegant Mediterranean dishes, moving into aperitifs as the day goes on. With a beautifully relaxed setting and a Riviera-inspired feel, it’s set to be a stylish new spot for everything from morning coffee to evening drinks.
The newest boutique hotel to arrive in Mayfair, The Shepherd offers 82 rooms and suites just off Park Lane, with a more intimate, residential feel than the area’s grand hotels.
Alongside the hotel itself, guests can enjoy Fayre, a 62-cover restaurant serving seasonal British dishes throughout the day, plus The Lounge for coffee and light bites. Hidden beneath the hotel, Teddy’s is a late-night cocktail bar, while an outdoor terrace adds to the offering.
The team behind Peckham favourites Levan and Bar Levan are heading into central London with Cassette, a new French-inspired restaurant in Covent Garden.
Expect Parisian bistro influences, seasonal dishes and a drinks list with a particular focus on Calvados, alongside an interesting wine selection. The two-floor space will feature an open kitchen and dining room downstairs, with a terrace upstairs. Even the name has a story, inspired by co-founder Mark Gurney’s DJ playlists.
Set within Brown Hart Gardens, Pearl is a new all-day dining destination from The Beaumont and Culinary Director Lisa Goodwin-Allen.
The menu takes inspiration from the Mediterranean, with dishes designed around social dining and sharing, while the terrace brings a touch of European terrace culture to Mayfair. From breakfast and leisurely lunches to afternoon aperitivo and family-style dinners, Pearl is designed to evolve throughout the day, with the surrounding gardens given a fresh new look.
Pizza lovers have a new Bermondsey opening to look forward to, with Five Feet Pizza coming from the team behind Luna and Legare and WatchHouse.
The focus is on fluffy, aerated dough baked in black iron pans for a crisp edge, topped with local and British ingredients. Think hot sausage, pepperoni and potato pies, alongside chicken wings, polenta fritta and plenty of dips for the crust. A new spot to add to your South London list.
From new restaurants putting a fresh spin on established cuisines to stylish new hotel and dining spaces, September has plenty of exciting additions to London’s ever-changing food and hospitality scene. Whether you’re planning a client dinner, team celebration or simply looking for somewhere new to try, there are plenty of openings worth knowing about.
