The August Edit: New Openings in London 2026

Introduction

There’s nothing quite like the buzz of a fresh opening, and there are set to be some great ones this August! From a landmark hotel relaunch in Venice to a soft-serve counter dedicated entirely to Mr Whippy nostalgia, the month ahead has something for every kind of outing, whether you’re planning a client lunch, a team celebration, or simply your next long weekend.

We’ve rounded up eight of our favourites below, spanning London, Leeds and Venice. And if you’d like to stay up to date with all the latest insider news, exclusive offers and member perks, sign up to our newsletter and stay in the loop!

New Openings This Month

The Imperial

Bloomsbury

Following a complete overhaul, the historic Imperial Hotel in Bloomsbury reopens this August with two new additions. Pasta favourite Bancone is bringing its sixth London site to the building, with room for 140 diners inside and a further 60 on the terrace. Think spicy nduja ragu and silky handkerchief pasta with confit egg yolk.

Upstairs, there is a brand new rooftop bar with space for 300 guests, making this one of the most exciting multi-use openings of the summer. Whether you’re after a relaxed pasta lunch or a spot for a bigger celebration, this Russell Square address is set to become a go-to.

Opening: 14th of August

Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel

Venice

After more than three years of restoration, Danieli reopens in Venice. Set directly on the lagoon, just steps from Piazza San Marco, Hotel Danieli returns as a Four Seasons property for the first time, blending its 19th-century grandeur with the brand’s signature service.

Guests can expect 120 rooms and suites, many with lagoon views, alongside Terrazza Danieli for lagoon-side dining. A new spa is set to follow later in the year. For anyone dreaming of a Venetian escape, this is the one to watch.

Opening: 26th of August

Dishoom Leeds

Leeds

After a long wait, Dishoom finally lands in Yorkshire this August, with a soft launch from 3 August (50% off food) ahead of the official opening on 14 August. It’s the brand’s first venture outside its usual cities, taking over a striking site on Vicar Lane.

As with every Dishoom, there’s a story behind the décor. This one inspired by the 1944 explosion of the SS Fort Stikine in Bombay Dock, which sent gold bars flying across the city. Expect all the usual favourites, from bacon naan rolls to house black daal, served all day.

Opening: 14th of August

Tasca at Project 44

Shoreditch

Last year’s Tasca pop-up quickly became a firm favourite, so its return this August is one we’ve been genuinely looking forward to. Head chef Josh Dallaway and sommelier Sinead Murdoch are back together, bringing their Portuguese and Spanish-inspired cooking to London once again.

Expect the same warmth and generosity that made the original such a hit, paired with a thoughtfully chosen wine list. If you caught it the first time round, you’ll know exactly why we’re excited. If you didn’t, this is your chance!

Open now!

Saltwater

Soho

Landing on Soho’s Berwick Street this summer, Saltwater brings a fresh, fast-casual take on sushi to the neighbourhood. It’s from the team behind Milk Beach, with the menu developed by sushi chef Shaulan Steenson (formerly of Endo at the Rotunda and Hakkoku in Tokyo).

The focus here is on quality without the fuss – quick, accessible and built for real life, without compromising on flavour. It’s a welcome addition for anyone after a proper sushi fix on the go, rather than a full sit-down meal.

Opening: 13th of August

Marrone

Soho

For anyone who considers tiramisu the pinnacle of Italian desserts, Soho’s newest opening is one to know. Marrone comes from second-generation Italian Giancarlo Fanigliulo, who’s built an entire café around the classic dish. A lovely addition to London’s growing love affair with Italian sweet treats!

The launch menu includes several versions to try, starting with an Original made using Estate Dairy cream and dark roast coffee. It’s a small, simple concept, but one we suspect will develop a loyal following fast.

Opening: 8th of August

Whippies

Covent Garden

Big Kid Ice Cream, already a favourite for its soft-serve, is expanding into Seven Dials Market this August with Whippies, a dedicated ode to the classic Mr Whippy van. It opens on 8 August, just in time for the last stretch of summer.

Everything starts with their new Vanilla Whippy base, made with organic milk, brown butter and real Madagascan vanilla, before being built into sundaes, slushies and other nostalgic treats. A proper treat for anyone missing the sound of the ice cream van.

Opening: 8th of August

It's Bagels

Hampstead

Cult favourite It’s Bagels is bringing its fourth London site to Hampstead this August, continuing its steady expansion across the city. The exact date is still under wraps, but it’ll be marked with a back-to-school party for local families, with a free bagel for every child.

It’s a lovely, community-minded way to open, and entirely in keeping with the neighbourhood, family feel It’s Bagels has built since its Primrose Hill beginnings. One to add to your list for a relaxed weekend bagel run!

Opening: August 2026

Event Planning Tips: Expert Advice from Miss Jones

Introduction

Planning an event can feel like a juggling act. Whether you’re organising a corporate dinner, conference, summer party, client event or team away day, there are countless moving parts to keep track of. From finding the perfect venue to coordinating suppliers and creating an experience your guests will remember, we know that successful events take much more than simply securing a space.

One of the most common mistakes we see is jumping straight into venue searching without first considering the bigger picture. Every event is different, and the best ones are built around clear objectives, thoughtful planning and great guest experiences. These are the same principles our team uses every day when helping clients bring their events to life.

Need help finding the perfect venue?

Our complimentary concierge service is here to lighten the workload, matching you with the right venues and trusted suppliers while saving you valuable time throughout the planning process.

Our Top Event Planning Tips

1

Start With Clear Event Objectives

Before making any decisions, take a step back and ask yourself: What is this event trying to achieve? Whether your goal is networking, team building, celebrating success, entertaining clients or launching a new product, every choice you make should support that objective.

Miss Jones Tip: Define success before you begin planning.

2

Choose the Right Venue As Early As Possible

The venue sets the tone for your entire event, so it’s worth taking the time to find the right fit. Consider your guest numbers, location, accessibility, atmosphere, AV facilities, catering options, outdoor spaces and whether accommodation is needed. Booking early also gives you greater availability, more flexibility and often access to better rates.

Not sure where to start?

That’s exactly what our complimentary concierge service is for! Tell us about your event and we’ll shortlist venues that match your brief, introduce trusted suppliers and help narrow down the options, completely free of charge.

3

Set a Realistic Budget

A well-planned budget helps avoid surprises later on. Think beyond venue hire and include catering, drinks, entertainment, production, transport, accommodation and any additional supplier costs. It’s also worth setting aside a contingency fund, giving you flexibility if plans change or unexpected costs arise along the way.

Miss Jones Tip: Set a realistic budget and leave a little room for the unexpected.

4

Think About Your Guest Experience

Guests may not remember every item on the agenda, but they’ll remember how the event made them feel. From a smooth registration process and welcoming arrival to comfortable breakout spaces, thoughtful catering timings and accessible facilities, it’s often the smaller details that leave the biggest impression.

Miss Jones Tip: Prioritise how your guests will feel.

5

Don't Leave Entertainment Until Last

Entertainment shouldn’t be an afterthought. Whether it’s a live band, DJ, interactive activity, guest speaker, wellness experience or seasonal entertainment, the right choice should complement your event’s objectives and enhance the overall atmosphere.

Need some inspiration?

We’ve built relationships with some of the best entertainment suppliers in the events industry.

Here are a few we’d highly recommend:

Guests laughing and enjoying a party created by GOTO Events

GOTO Events

Experts in team building and corporate experiences, GOTO Events create engaging activities that encourage collaboration, communication and a little healthy competition. Their events work brilliantly for away days, conferences and team celebrations.

A surprise singing performance by a fake waiter at an event

The Singing Waiter Masters

The perfect option for an unforgettable surprise. The Singing Waiter Masters turn an ordinary dinner into an extraordinary experience, with talented performers disguised as waiting staff before launching into a show-stopping performance that gets everyone involved.

Entertainment provided by Wonderosity for an event, in an Alice in Wonderland theme

WONDEROSITY

For something a little different, Wonderosity specialises in immersive entertainment, interactive performers and creative experiences that bring personality and energy to any event. They're perfect for creating unexpected moments that guests will be talking about long after the event has finished.

6

Create a Detailed Timeline

A clear timeline helps everything run smoothly on the day.

✔ Send invitations

✔ Collect dietary and accessibility requirements

✔ Coordinate supplier arrivals

We also help unlock exclusive perks, share honest advice based on first-hand experience and support you throughout the planning process, making the journey feel a little less overwhelming.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I plan an event?

As soon as you know your event objectives, guest numbers and preferred dates, it’s worth getting started. Popular venues can book up months in advance, particularly during busy seasons. However, if you are working to a shorter timeline, our concierge team can help source suitable venues quickly and keep your planning moving!

Alongside venue hire, remember to budget for catering, drinks, entertainment, production, transport, accommodation and any supplier costs. We also recommend setting aside a contingency fund of around 5-10% to cover any unexpected expenses.

The best venue depends on your event objectives, guest numbers, location, atmosphere and practical requirements such as AV, catering and accessibility. Our team is always happy to recommend venues that suit your brief and help you compare your options.

It’s often the thoughtful details that guests remember most. Great food, engaging entertainment, smooth organisation and unique experiences all contribute to an event that leaves a lasting impression. We work with a network of trusted suppliers who can help elevate your event with those memorable finishing touches.

If you want to save time and remove some of the stress from planning, absolutely. Our complimentary concierge service allows you to share your event brief with us, and we’ll recommend venues and suppliers that suit your requirements, saving you hours of research while giving you access to expert advice along the way.
