Sir John Soane’s Museum is a Grade I listed building dedicated to Sir John Soane, one of the greatest English architects, who built and lived in it two centuries ago. The museum has been kept as it was at the time of his death in 1837, and displays his vast collection of antiquities, furniture, sculptures, architectural models and paintings. At the Museum, you will have the chance to discover the Dome area, where you’ll see architectural fragments, casts, and the 3,000 year-old sarcophagus of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh, before visiting the famous Picture Room. With paintings by Canaletto, Hogarth and Turner, the walls swing open – to reveal dozens more paintings hidden beyond. Our atmospheric Library-Dining Room is the perfect setting for exclusive and intimate dinners. Your guests will dine in a unique Regency interior, surrounded by Soane’s collection of books, Ancient Greek vases, and paintings.
