What?
Where?
West Kensington local The Coltons Arms has been given a new lease of life by owners, husband and wife team, Rupert and Jo Clevey. Serving up delicious food in the shadow of Queens Tennis Courts.
The Vibes:
Pull up for a pint at The Colton Arms’ glorious gleaming copper bar, or walk on in and enjoy a dish from their all-day dining menu which embraces great British pub grub with a European twist. Quirky light fittings and art work have brought this venue back to life! And with summer just around the corner, the charming outdoor terrace can be hired privately with indoor ‘Raquet Room’ conservatory room. The perfect way to relax after a sunny afternoon on the courts!
What we Ate
Steak Tartar with egg yolk did not disappoint! A favorite of ours, well executed at the pub.
Our other starters were a cheesy affair! Burrata served with a sprinkling of beans and peas on sourdough, while the we loved the healthy goats cheese salad served on a bed of colorful quinoa with chill orange and coriander.
The risotto was simple but effortlessly delicious, seasoned with parmesan, chili and coriander.
Treat yourself with the succulent buttermilk chicken with crispy chips and caramelized onion slaw.
Usually I don’t like to share deserts…however, the scrumptious sharing warm chocolate brownie Sunday was more than enjoy for my sweet tooth fill!
We Recommend:
Far from your expected pub grub, we would have to recommend the goats cheese salad as mentioned above. A fresh but zesty and flavorsome salad with a generous slice of cheese for goat cheese fanatics like ourselves!
Our Thoughts:
Hippo Inns have made it their mission to protect British pubs, and The Colton Arms is one of the lucky few that has been brought back up-to-date by the group with a stylish interior and a contemporary menu to match!
