Review: Mere

Mere is an elegant and contemporary restaurant, offering a relaxed yet refined dining experience. The dishes celebrate the passion and heritage of husband and wife team, Monica and David Galetti, blending classical French with South Pacific influences.

The name Mere derives from the French word for mother, and incidentally is also Monica’s mother’s name, pronounced as ‘Mary’ in Samoan.

Located in the heart of Fitzrovia

The Vibes?

The downstairs restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere with well-spaced tables and soft lighting while a buzzing upstairs bar is a destination on its own, or ideal for a pre or post dinner hang out.

We ate?

Scallop with Black Curry, Cauliflower and Golden Raisin

Corzetti Pasta, Chicken Oysters and Wild Mushrooms- One of Monica’s signature dishes! It’s amazing!

Main Course:

Lobster A La Plancha, Peanut, Coconut and Ginger and Chilli – The lobster was so hearty and the flavours all blend seamlessly together!

Little Treats for our coffee!

Our Thoughts?

One of our favourite high end restaurants right now and definitely one to watch!

Mere also has a gorgeous private dining room that can accommodate up to 10 guests. With distressed mirrored tiles and a television screen discreetly inserted into the wooden wall panels, guests can also have a direct view into the kitchen and the chefs at work.
