Nestled in the heart of the new Nova restaurant quarter in Victoria this all day dining brasserie is the perfect place to meet friends, colleagues or clients at any time of day. It’s been a long time coming in Victoria which is finally meeting demands and becoming a hub of activity in the restaurant industry.
As part of D&D restaurants, it is a combination of Nordic and French cuisines thanks to executive chef Helena Puilakka’s Nordic heritage and classical French training. There are two parts to it, the cafe/deli for those wanting just a quick lunch or a coffee, and the restaurant/bar.
The restaurant has a quirky and retro feel to it, channeling more french vibes than nordic, with chandeliers and brass fittings, and an amazing bar with a huge array of spirits to choose from. An extensive menu makes it hard to know what to choose, most of which are something you know with a slight twist. The yellow fin tuna to start comes highly recommended with it being fresh and hugely flavoursome. And for the main course the chicken schnitzel is one not to miss with it’s simple ingredients but elegant presentation.
This is a great place to visit whether it’s a quick meal that you’re looking for, or an extravagant fine dining experience. Being opposite the station and the slick operation gives this restaurant plenty of reason to visit it.
