Our Top places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Corazon

Cinco de Mayo is the most ambiguous of holidays – celebrating an obscure and unlikely military victory, which many confuse with Mexico’s Independence Day. But it is the very essence of a great party. A few margaritas in, does it really matter why we’re celebrating?

Our bash will stretch all day Saturday and Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend, giving you two full days to party like an adult (mostly).  There will be live mariachi music, salsa & guacamole tastings, samplers of new dishes, plus a special new and expanded agave list to explore.

Join us for a dinner, or a restorative brunch – or both! We’re only reserving half our tables. If you can’t book a spot, please just pop down; we’ll be running a short queue and sweetening the deal with surprise perks whilst you wait.

Eastway Brasserie

BECAUSE WE LOVE A CULINARY FIESTA, we have created a Mexican-inspired menu to salute Cinco de Mayo, £28 per person (minimum 2 people)

The price per person includes all the starters for your table to share and 1 main per person.

You can also help yourself to as many of our delicious cakes, biscuits, breads, desserts and treats as you like.

We won’t judge!

Cointreau

Cointreau have announced that they will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Margarita themed events and activations at some of the UK’s top bars, during May 2019. Bringing all the energy and vibrance of Acapulco to life with a series of events around London and beyond, Cointreau will be celebrating the brand’s long-standing relationship with the iconic drink, and the House of Cointreau’s 170th Anniversary this year.

Throughout May, celebrations of all things Margarita and Cinco de Mayo with Cointreau will be taking place at top bars across the UK, including Be inspired by the beaches of Acapulco as the summer draws near with unique events, terraces and specialty menus at top bars, including Fulham’s The Little Blue Door, who will be serving a fabulously frozen sharing Blue Margarita with Cointreau – bringing the true party vibe of Mexico to life for you and your friends, from Wednesday 1st May through till Sunday 5th May.

Elsewhere in London, Jin Bo Law will be serving up a unique Margarita menu that will take residency throughout the month of May, and a fabulous Cinco de Mayo terrace fiesta on 4th May that will bring all the sights, sounds and smells of Mexico to life. On Sunday 5th May, COYA will rival the streets of Mexico City as the DJ plays some Latino tunes alongside some special performances. The celebration will start in the Pisco Bar & Lounge where COYA will be switching up their normal drinks offering, adding a bit of tequila and selection of canapé stations which brunch-goers can help themselves from, including their renowned guacamole, before moving into the restaurant.

In the evenings, live music acts will get the festivities going and the bartenders will be serving Mexican-French inspired cocktail with Tequila, Cointreau, Casis and lime

Novikov

As an Italian and Asian restaurant and favourites of the Russian set, it’s only natural that Novikov would be going all out for Cinco de Mayo. The lounge bar will be bringing in a mariachi band for what they bill as an ‘adrenalin-fuelled night’ which will also feature dancers and DJs. While you’re there, check out the two restaurants or just enjoy the people-watching.

TT Liquor

TT Liquor will be making sure that the only liquor on your lips this Cinco de Mayo will be tequila thanks to their ‘Eighth Battalion’. Celebrating the battle which the day itself commemorates, the drink includes Tequila Ocho as its base, which is a small batch artisanal Mexican tequila made using traditional methods, along with cacao infused triple sec, lime and ancho chilli, and hibiscus infused pomegranate.

Ella Canta

If anyone was going to come up trumps this Cinco de Mayo then it was going to be Ella Canta. The stylish restaurant have partnered with Don Julio, purportedly the world’s first luxury tequila, to cook up a bespoke 5th May brunch paired with cocktails specially for the event. The three-course menu will include quesadilla with corn and Oaxaca cheese, fried eggs over corn tortillas and Mexican churros and each of the courses will, of course, be paired with a Don Julio cocktail, including Tommy’s Margarita, Toreadoro and finally Paloma cocktail.

MNKY HSE

There’ll be no mnky business at MNKY HSE this Cinco de Mayo, because everyone’ll be too busy tucking into their Cinco de Mayo dinner as the Latin American restaurant brings in mariachi band El Mexicano and puts together five exclusive Cinco de Mayo dishes for the occasion, featuring MNKY fajitas, decadent nachos and an interactive ‘Spnk the Mnky’ piñata dessert. Plus, of course, plenty of margarita.

Near & Far, Camden

Let’s hope you’re near to, rather than far from, Camden this weekend because Near & Far Camden have got Cinco de Mayo on the go. The newly opened cocktail bar will see you your boozy Mexican brunch and will raise you ‘La Loteria’. La loteria is a sort of Mexican version of bingo with what’s described as ‘all sorts of enticing prizes’. Entry includes a margarita on arrival and a sharing brunch platter.

Leicester Square Kitchen

One of England’s iconic locations, and our favourite square named after a midlands industrial hub, will be hosting a Mexican makeover courtesy of Leicester Square Kitchen. Their brunch fiesta involves plenty of live entertainment plus the flavours of Cinco de Mayo in the form of a Pisco Sour or Margarita signature cocktail, followed by a selection of small plates including sea bass ceviche or crispy duck and pomegranate ensalada. Make it bottomless and add in Prosecco and Champagne.

One of our favourite sky terraces, Jin Bo Law, will be putting together a Cinco de Mayo terrace fiesta for the Mexican national day. Head down on 4th may (quatro de mayo) for a night of the sights and sounds, as well as smells, of Mexico. They’ll be serving up a unique Margarita menu throughout May thanks to their partnership with Cointreau.
