Perhaps you want to know which things to focus on if you are forced from your PA career; or know what you can do if your PA career is heading towards a management role.Yvette talks about all the things from her PA career that helped her when she stepped away from Administration. 

About Yvette:

Yvette worked as an EA within Financial Services for more than a decade, in large blue-chip organisations, start-ups, and everything in between. She was working in an investment bank during the 2008 crash, and has worked at two different start-ups.

She has worked with large teams, and as a 1-1 PA, and is a Fellow of the Global PA Association.

Yvette now works as the Head of Business Intelligence for an Alternative Finance company for which she joined as Office Manager and PA in 2015.

Her continued support for the Administrative profession extends to speaking at international events and panels, and writing articles specialising in body language, working at start-up organisations, and how to work with different types of people.

Yvette is a seasoned networker and speaker, Q&A host and panelist. She has built several of her own websites and is currently writing a book on how to work with different personality types.


12.30pm The Art of Negotiation with Lucy Chamberlain

Wouldn’t it be a different world if everybody thought the way you did? If everybody spontaneously conformed to your every wish, your every thought, your every feeling? Since life doesn’t work that way, we want you to become skilled at the art of negotiation.

This session is designed to help you to move from a place of anxiety to a place of feeling empowered to hold challenging conversations whether it is with your boss or client through to a flatmate or partner!

1.30pm Managing Conflict by Andrew Jardine

This session is a thought-provoking exploration into conflict. We will look at the psychological and physiological effects of conflict. We’ll also cover the insights to develop that will help us better manage conflict situations.

About Andrew:

As the General Manager of the Institute of Administrative Management Andrew has a simple purpose: to champion the fields of administration and management and to provide services and benefits that support members’ professional and career development.
He started in an administrative role in the Civil Service and has also worked as a management accountant and is a qualified management services practitioner.
He eventually realised his passion is for training and staff development, and qualified through the CIPD. He has since delivered to all levels of management in the public, private and voluntary sectors over the course of the last 20+ years.
He is excited as he moves into his fourth year in the role that he gets to work with, and talk to, organisations and people who share his passion for raising professional standards and helping others to learn new skills and develop existing ones.

5.30pm Understand your mind to achieve your peak performance by Nick Bishop

In just twenty minutes you will have a better understanding of how the mind works, and then how to make changes that will improve your own personal performance. The short talk will both capture the imagination and leave the audience wanting to learn more!

Having spent close to 15 years managing teams of up to 250 in leading blue chip companies, Nick has a real understanding of the needs of business but equally importantly of the demands that is placed on individuals. The people management has always been the buzz for Nick, constantly trying to find better ways to manage, coach and inspire his teams to greater levels of success.

6.30pm ‘Putting Your People First’ by Adam Rowledge

How to achieve operational excellence and commercial success by putting your people first; attracting, developing, motivating and retaining talent to maximise potential in your organisation.

About Adam:

Adam is a keynote speaker and the Managing Director of Rowledge Associates, a consultancy and training business which supports companies to achieve operational excellence and commercial success by putting their people first and to enrich the lives of team members through positive impacts in the workplace. Named Independent Hotelier of the Year by the Independent Hotel Show Awards in 2018, Adam has also been awarded British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame Young Manager of the Year in 2017 and an Acorn Award in 2012. In addition, Adam is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality as well as being Vice Chair of its Board of Trustees and as a NED for 2 other businesses.

About Abi:

Abigail Jones is a career Executive Assistant, winner of the Miss Jones Group of the Year 2018, London PA of the Year 2017 and PA of the Year 2016, with almost two decades’ of experience. She was featured on the cover of PA Life Magazine and is a regular contributor to it and other PA blogs and articles, and has also been featured on panel shows, articles, summits and workshops with The European Executive Assistants Conference, The Assistant Room, Miss Jones Group Club, The Global PA Association, Practically Perfect, LCCI PA Club and SecsInTheCity. With three degrees in the Arts, she started her career working at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Museums, Christies and Sotheby’s auction houses and private art dealers. Abigail then moved into Healthcare, Charity, Law, Fashion/Luxury Retail (L’Oreal) and is currently the EA to the CEO of ghd. Abigail specialises in working at ‘C suite’ level, and is passionate about encouraging PA’s to get the most of out their careers, giving women and equal voice in the workplace, and developing skill sets to make the most of the role of Executive and Personal Assistant. She also provides coaching and mentoring to individual EAs and PAs and as well as corporate groups

About Sophie:

Sophie is a dynamic, straight talking, award-winning Executive Assistant. Having graduated with a 2:1 in Retail Buying, she initially carved out a career in this field, working for leading retailers. It soon became clear that her exceptional organisation skills, first class communication and ability to influence would be best suited to a career as an assistant. In 2016 Sophie was snapped up by C&C Search where she still supports their Founder today.

Over the last 3 years Sophie has worked alongside the Founders to build the business and has grown personally and professionally, facing change and challenges along the way. The business has seen rapid growth alongside an office move and Sophie has been instrumental in the evolution of the company.

As a result of her impact, Sophie was promoted and now leads the administration team as well as sitting on the board of the company. Her exceptional ability to create meaningful collaborations has seen her produce outstanding events with exceptional venues, partners and sponsors. Sophie has been fundamental in securing partnerships with reputable brands as well as charities and PA networks.

Sophie’s passion for her profession has seen her become influential in PA networks across London. This passion led to her successful launch of the C&C Search PA Network which runs monthly events and training.

Sophie is highly valued and admired across C&C Search and various PA networks; she is certainly an inspiration for any individual that is looking to forge a career as an assistant.

Her contributions as an Executive Assistant have resulted in recognition by her professional peers and so, in 2018, she was awarded The Miss Jones Group Choice Award.

About Danielle:

Danielle Francis is a multi award winning Assistant who works for the UK CEO of Ankura.

Danielle previously worked for over 6 years for the Chair of the Financial Conduct Authority.

She has over 10 years’ experience working in Financial Services supporting Senior Leaders and C-Suite.

Danielle has a passion for helping others and mentors many PA’s and Administrators.

In addition, she was previously Co-Chair of the FCA internal Business Support network and Events Manager for the FCA Charity Committee.

She is a member of The Global PA Association, LCCI PA, The PA Club and Miss Jones Group.

Danielle has continuous CPD training and is a City & Guilds trained PA.

She is the winner of the 2018 Miss Jones Group Award for Outstanding Achievement and 2017 London PA Award for Communication

About Melissa:

Melissa is the EA to Paul Griffiths at First State Investments where she has worked for six years. Prior to this Melissa was an EA to two HNWI.

She is engaging, funny, straight talking and has probably seen most things there are to see in her 22 year career as an assistant.

Having beaten cancer twice by the age of 37, Melissa can face any challenge thrown her way with a can-do attitude. A mentor and role model to other assistants.
