Grape Escapes: New Wine Tasting Staycation With Horwood House & Chafor Estate

 

English wines are having a moment and what better backdrop to enjoy them against than the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside? Freshly refurbished historic hotel, Horwood House, has announced a new partnership with multiple award-winning boutique wine estate, Chafor, to host a series of wine tours, tastings and overnight stays in the heart of the countryside on select Saturdays* from May – August – cheers to that!

 

Conveniently located less than 20 minutes from the hotel, arrive to the family-run Chafor estate and be greeted with a crisp glass of its award-winning Vintage Cuvée Sparkling Wine before embarking on a guided tour of the vineyard and winery with head winemaker, Tim Chafor. After learning about the history of the 23-acre estate and the winery’s signature style, head to the tasting room to sample three specially selected wines – from a rich and zesty white to a refined and small batch rosé – paired with a delectable British cheese board.

 

After sipping and savouring your way round the estate, next stop is the idyllic Horwood House where a Deluxe Room awaits. Relax and unwind in the brand-new spa – complete with a 15-metre swimming pool, heated tranquillity beds, a detoxifying sauna and steam rooms – before indulging in a delicious dinner at Harry’s Bar & Kitchen, expertly prepared by Executive Chef Will Dimartino, Expect seasonal and locally sourced fare with dishes including goats’ cheese and roasted beetroot; stone bass on a bed of pearl barley and courgette; and 48hr beef brisket with creamy mash and confit carrot.

 

The package is priced at £325 per room (£162.50pp) and includes a 2pm tour and tasting (approx. 90 minutes) at Chafor with a cheese board, use of hotel spa facilities from 12 noon – check out, £30pp dinner allocation, and an overnight stay in a Deluxe bedroom with breakfast included.
