Transmutation · Matter – Spirit
Launch Exhibition by Mali Mowcka at Hart Shoreditch Hotel

Transmutation · Matter – Spirit is an immersive exhibition by artist Mali Mowcka, exploring the subtle and powerful processes of inner and outer transformation. Rooted in the idea that matter, symbols, and forms can become sacred, the works invite us to reflect on how objects and energies evolve—gaining consciousness, meaning, and spiritual resonance through profound change.

The exhibition draws inspiration from a vivid dream in which animal presences emerged as guides. From this experience, the deer becomes a central symbolic figure, embodying transformation, sensitivity, and heightened awareness. Acting as a bridge between the material and the spiritual, the deer represents the quiet threshold where change begins to take form.

Across cultures, the deer carries rich and layered symbolism. In indigenous traditions, it is associated with gentleness, intuition, and a deep connection to nature. Celtic mythology presents the deer as a guide to the otherworld, leading souls through realms of transformation. In Native American beliefs, it represents grace, balance, and attunement, while in Eastern traditions it is linked to peace, longevity, and spiritual harmony.

Within this exhibition, the deer is not only a symbol but a living energetic presence—an invitation to expand perception, reconnect with inner stillness, and embrace transformation as a sacred and continuous process.

This special launch also celebrates the 2-year anniversary of UBA, with rolling canapés and drinks served throughout the evening!
