Situated atop Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, ABar Rooftop is now open and bringing a stylish new dimension to the London bar scene. The 50-seat bar and outdoor terrace offers breathtaking panoramic views over Mayfair, extending as far as Hampstead Heath and the London Eye. Evoking the energy and shifting seasons of London, ABar Rooftop takes a creative approach to the classics, blending unique flavours with cyclical ingredients. The menu is inspired by the ever-changing seasons of the city and is divided into Haru (Spring), Natsu (Summer), Aki (Autumn) and Fuyu (Winter); hero serves from the menu include ‘Artichoke Thyme’ a sophisticated take on the Old Fashioned featuring roasted artichoke-infused Whistle Pig 10 Years Old whiskey, Cynar, garlic oil and thyme essence; ‘Fig & Yuzu’ a zesty reinterpretation of the White Negroni with fig-infused Mancino Bianco vermouth, Rinomato Americano Bianco, London No. 3 gin and Yuzushu and ‘Grapefruit & Jasmine’ pairing Roku gin with The Lost Explorer mezcal Espadin, jasmine liqueur, and grapefruit soda, evoking the refreshing scent of jasmine after rain. Chef Akira Back has curated an appealing menu of dishes influenced by his global experiences and Korean heritage. Lunch will include refreshing light dishes such as miso niçoise salad, grilled salmon poke bowl and Wagyu burger whilst the evening menu will include a variety of savoury sushi tacos, new style sashimi and caviar. Designed to capture the essence of the sky above, the bar’s interior is both sophisticated and ethereal, featuring a palette of sky blues, champagne tones and opulent ambers. A striking chandelier inspired by the soft textures of clouds anchors the space, reflecting the fluidity of the London skyline. With floor-to-ceiling windows framing the city, ABar Rooftop offers an unparalleled view of the capital’s most famous landmarks. Due to its intimate nature, reservations are recommended and as part of the exclusive experience, guests arrive via a private lift to the one-of-a-kind venue, encased in a stunning glass cube. ABar Rooftop is open from 12 pm to midnight, Sunday to Wednesday, and until 1am from Thursday to Saturday, with live smooth DJ performances filling the air from 7pm Thursday through to Saturday.
