Wimbledon Big Screen Returns to St Katharine Docks

This July, St Katharine Docks is delighted to announce the return of its ‘Screen on the Water,’ which will exclusively show the entire Wimbledon Tennis Championships 2024.
Ideal for anyone who couldn’t get their hands on the elusive tennis tickets, the floating pontoon of St Katharine Docks provides the perfect backdrop to catch the finest rallies, aces, and drop shots from the world’s greatest players.
Set to become the go-to destination for all tennis enthusiasts, the screen on the water will show every game of this year’s prestigious Championships with a larger-than-life screen and a licensed bar serving up refreshing cocktails, beer, crisp prosecco, and of course, strawberries and cream!
But it’s not just about the tennis at St Katharine Docks. Nestled around the corner lies the iconic Girl with a Dolphin fountain, a masterpiece that pays tribute to the legendary tennis player Virginia Wade. Wade’s graceful prowess on the court continues to inspire generations, and her spirit resonates through the vibrant atmosphere of the entire estate.

HAM YARDS
Broadcasting the BBC’s coverage of The Championships on a large LED screen every day of Wimbledon, catch all of the action at Ham Yard Hotel’s ‘Centre Court-Yard’. Soak up the atmosphere with a playful cocktail in hand, traditional strawberries and cream, or a tennis themed afternoon tea, and listen to the commentary via wireless headphones.
On the leafy terrace outside the central London hotel, tennis fans are invited to enjoy the tournament under the dappled light of oak trees, surrounded by strawberry plants, an umpire chair and purple and green hydrangeas, all in honour of Wimbledon.
The limited edition cocktails, (£16) made in collaboration with London Essence and Sipsmith (the official gin of Wimbledon), will include:
● Strawberries & Cream – an indulgent hit of Sipsmith Sipping vodka, tequila, strawberry purée and mint tea, topped with a ‘cream’ foam
● Sloe Motion Serve – a refreshing mojito-style cocktail with Sipsmith Sloe gin, crème de mure, plum bitters, London Essence Raspberry & Rose Soda
● Perfect Volley Iced Tea – a summer take on a Long Island iced tea, made with Sipsmith Zesty Orange gin, Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle gin, Sipsmith Sipping vodka, orange bitters, English breakfast tea, Chinotto and London Essence Crafted Lemonade
A special afternoon tea, packed in a picnic hamper, will be served over the fortnight. Start with a Top Spin Spritz or glass of English sparkling before diving into a quintessentially British display of finger sandwiches, mini sausage rolls, and fluffy scones with clotted cream. Handmade pastries, inspired by the tournament, include a Strawberry tart and Yuzu and lemon verbena éclair topped with chocolate tennis balls.

Player 1 is an elevated Pimm’s and Lemonade from their exclusive Hayman’s Summer Spritz Cocktail menu, a ‘Hayman’s Cup’ hitting alongside Player 2, a moreish decadent Strawberries & Cream dessert.
