To Hawksmoor purists and our longest-serving staff, our steak restaurant in Shoreditch is top of the chops. It was the first to open and the general view is that it’s where the ‘Hawksmoor spirit’ is best embodied.

What was once a rundown part of town in Commercial Street is now cool East London’s beating heart, and we’re proud to be part of a buzzing community of restaurants next to the famous Spitalfields market and, of course, Brick Lane.

This is a restaurant for great steaks, drinks and an amazing atmosphere, full of people who genuinely care whether you enjoy your evening. It all amounts to being one of the top steak and seafood restaurants in East London – be it for lunch or dinner.

Getting to us is easy: we’re practically over the road from Shoreditch High Street station and a 10-minute walk from Liverpool Street, Old Street and Aldgate tube stations.

Situated below our Hawksmoor Spitalfields restaurant, Spitalfields Bar takes the very best of Hawksmoor – the cocktails, the food, the hospitality, and the décor – to create an atmospheric, private-use space that makes for memorable events and gatherings.

The back room of the restaurant is ideal for private hire of groups between 35 to 55. This can be hired exclusively for a private event for birthdays, anniversaries or other celebrations and also suitable for a corporate function.
