Tate Events is uniquely placed to offer an immersive event experience. From small, intimate gatherings to large scale corporate events, Tate Events can cater to any function across Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Tate St Ives, Tate Liverpool and the Fitzwilliam Museum. These world–renowned venues offer unrivalled spaces to host guests, from Tate Modern’s iconic Turbine Hall to Tate Britain’s neo-classical Duveen Galleries. From film premieres to launch parties, fashion shows and dinners, to high-level corporate meetings, the team creates personalised, bespoke events.
The Tanks are the world’s first museum galleries permanently dedicated to exhibiting live art, performance and film. Previously used to store oil during the building’s former life as a power station, these huge circular spaces in the foundations of the gallery provide endless opportunities for truly unique receptions and celebrations. A location unlike anything else in London. Set within the world famous Tate Modern.
As Carmen Stevens, Head of Business at Tate Events explains, “Tate Events offers amazing spaces in iconic places. The in-house end-to-end event service delivers every style of event, private fine dining, exquisite drinks receptions, film premiers, celebrations of art and artists, fashion shows through to large-scale conferences and meetings. All planned and delivered by one exceptional team.”
Tate has run its own in-house food and drink offer since 1970 and Tate Eats remains unique in that all profits generated by the cafes and restaurants goes back into securing the future of building and sharing the national collection for all.
The Food
Gastronomy is at the heart of the offer from Tate Events. The team creates stunning food informed by the dynamic, creative gallery environment they work in.
Head Chef Spencer Ralph engages with curatorial colleagues to design bespoke menus inspired by the art on display. He and his team have relationships with the UK’s finest suppliers, and use these ingredients to create seasonal, sustainable menus. This utterly unique approach makes for one of the UK’s finest event kitchens.
Wine
Drink in all its forms is at the heart of Tate Events. The cellars have long been celebrated, offering a unique pedigree of aged wine, from French classics to New World heroes. Curated for over 20 years by CEO and wine expert Hamish Anderson, it delivers breadth and the very best quality at all price points.
Tate Eats works with many of the best breweries in the UK delivering artist inspired beers exclusive to Tate. Tate gin, distilled by Sacred, is now in its eighth year of production, while the elderflower soda is made with Square Root. Tate seeks and supports small independent businesses crafting brilliant products that reflect their values.
Coffee
Coffee has been a specialism at Tate for over a decade since the inception of Coffee by Tate, the Tate’s own roastery. It is an innovative, specialty coffee space situated within the historic grounds of Tate Britain. The team source and roast sustainable, ethical coffees grown by inspirational producers from South America.
