The Phene

Tucked away in a leafy enclave just a short walk from the King’s Road, you’ll find our iconic Chelsea pub, The Phene. With a heritage stretching back to 1853, this imposing three-floor clubhouse-style venue is renowned in SW3 for its cosy bars, wonderful entertaining spaces and charming garden – a twinkling oasis of calm that is as welcoming in the winter as it is charming in the summer.

The Phene has a range of rooms and spaces available to hire at no cost, making it the perfect location for your boutique wedding.

A leafy 5-minute stroll from Chelsea Old Town Hall, we have hosted everything from simple post-ceremony lunches for 10 to all-out receptions of 200 guests.

If you fancy skipping the Town Hall entirely, The Phene boasts its own wedding licence for those wanting to get married in a more relaxed setting.

Event Spaces;

The Oakley Room; 

The Oakley Room is located on the first floor of the venue and can accommodate up to 44 seated guests or 75 standing for drinks and canapés. The room boasts its own private bar with a range of wines and spirits. The space combines modern British elegance with comfort and flexibility. With large bay windows, a real fireplace and mirrored feature wall the Oakley Room is the perfect space to host your event. Available for 44 seated and 75 standing.

The Club Room; 

The Club Room can accommodate up to 16 seated guests for an intimate dinner. Enjoy a glass of fizz in the lounge area from the mini bar, then move to the large oak table for an enjoyable meal. The Club Room boats a 42” media screen and an independent music system to meet all your needs. Available for 16 seated. 

The Conservatory; 

The Restaurant is on the ground floor of The Phene. A light and airy space, it features a glass ceiling, modern art and lots of planting. The Restaurant is only available to book privately on weekday lunchtimes and can seat 24 guests in total, or a maximum of 16 along one table. Available for 24 seated.

The Saloon;

The Saloon is our new relaxed bar space adjacent to the Garden on the ground floor. The saloon is available to book for private hire for up to 18 guests seated for lunch or dinner. It is also the perfect space for post-work drinks or catching up with friends over cocktails and canapes. Available for 18 seated.

Chef’s Table; 

The newest private room is located on the ground floor of the venue and accommodates up to 8 seated guests. The best table in the house, it’s perfect for intimate dinners, corporate lunches and meetings. This classy new addition to The Phene is beautifully stylish and has independent audio control. It even has a ‘push from service’ button for when you need another bottle quickly! Available for 8 seated.

The Garden; 

Their leafy garden is the most famous in Chelsea and makes the perfect space
for summer receptions. You can hire either a quarter or half of the garden for private events. Many choose to start the evening in style with cocktails in the garden before moving to one of our private rooms, or simply make the most of the summer evenings and host a canapé reception outdoors. Available for 65 standing.

The Bar; 

The bar is one of the liveliest and most atmospheric in Chelsea.

Bar tables can be reserved for drinks, or are perfect for relaxed lunches throughout the week.
