The Mercer

Moments away from The Bank of England, at the business end of Threadneedle Street, you will find The Mercer; an old banking hall upgraded to monochrome finery befitting her professional clientele. Flexible and confident in our hospitality, we can tailor make your dining experience, be that a quick fire business meeting or a more relaxed sojourn. Their menu, featuring highlights of British classic and contemporary food, uses carefully sourced seasonal produce for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Mercer have added a smart quartet of rooms to their stock, providing private dining spaces suitable for most occasions. An ideal venue for conferences and social occasions, their versatile venue lends itself perfectly to events and exclusive hire: including meetings, conferences, weddings and celebrations.

Silk Room; 

Echoing the decadent surroundings of the main restaurant, the Silk room awaits those occasions when more than just a discreet corner is required. Perfect for a quiet breakfast, snappy private lunch or relaxed evening celebration, The Silk room can also be secured for simple tea and coffee meetings. Available for 6 seated.

Velvet Room; 

With an exclusive lounge feel The Velvet room can hold up to 16 guests and comes furnished with Wi-Fi and a 42” television screen built into a stately dark wood bookcase, when not in use, the television can be completely concealed behind a layer of brightly coloured 1st editions. The Velvet room creates an atmosphere of being in the heart of the City without compromising on privacy. Available for 16 in a boardroom style, 20 standing and theatre style for 20. 

Satin; 

Discreetly located on our lower ground floor is a cosy but business-like dining room. The Satin room enjoys a confidential, private ambience and lends itself generously to most occasions; perfect for conferences, board meetings, road shows and drinks receptions. Available for 25 seated boardroom, 40 standing and theatre 35. 

Wool;

Situated on the lofty first floor, with natural light and timeless decor, the Wool room evokes a calm, private and professional environment suitable for most occasions. This space has exclusive access to its own bar making it ideal for canapé and drink receptions. Available for 32 in a seated boardroom style, seated banquet for 48, standing 70 and theatre style for 60.

Linen;

On the Threadneedle Street side of the first floor, natural light streams in through the huge windows giving the room an airy and generous feel. Benefiting from high ceilings and panelled walls, this space offers the attractive flexibility of being tailored specifically to your event. The Linen room can also be deputised by two adjoining anterooms further maximising its potential. Available for 36 in a seated boardroom style, 48 seated banquet (64 combined with velvet), 80 standing (100 combined with velvet), theatre style for 60.

Ground Floor Exclusive;

Street level and sleek, the ground floor of The Mercer can seat up to 100 in a variety of different formats. Our flexibility of presentation makes this space ideal for corporate functions to canapé parties, drinks receptions to weddings. Behind the generous windows and cavernous ceilings, the ground floor boasts a well stocked, sophisticated and easily accessible bar for all your libatious needs. Available for 90 in a seated banquet, 150 standing and theatre style 100.

First Floor Exclusive; 

Bright and airy, the first floor is ingressed via exclusive access and a grand stone staircase. The proportions of the space can be maximised by making use of the two adjoining anterooms creating a versatile and lofty space. High ceilings and a splash of trademark teal in the bar, The Mercer’s first floor lends itself effortlessly to entertaining and networking alike. Available for 120 seated banquet style, 180 standing and theatre 140.
