Le Café du Marché

Le Café du Marché is a characterful private events venue in Smithfield, offering an authentic taste of France in the centre of London. Their cuisine has a provincial French accent. The regularly changing menu uses the best fresh and seasonal ingredients, features daily specials and ever popular dishes such as la cote de boeuf with sauce béarnaise; la soupe de poisson; and classic French cheese. Their Chefs are working constantly to innovate, bringing European influences to their dishes.

For relaxed parties or more formal occasions, their private dining room is perfect. Our personal and tailored events service will ensure your event runs smoothly whether it’s entertaining clients or celebrating a family birthday. 

Their high-ceilinged first floor private dining room, Le Grenier “the attic”, has large windows and characterful oak panelling, creating a rustic French atmosphere in the centre of London. Give your event a special French twist with live music from our resident jazz band.

The room is self-contained with its own entrance, bar, toilets, and kitchen. The light and airy space seats up to 62 people for lunch or dinner and up to 100 for canapés, but is also cosy enough to suit smaller groups too.

Le Grenier; is available on week days and Saturdays (or on Sundays by negotiation) for wedding receptions, private parties and dinners, or other functions. We can arrange music for your party – with bands providing musical styles ranging from classical to jazz to blues.
