This Harvey Nichols own label collection brings together three excellent expressions of New World reds in one stylish gift pack. The three wines included – an Australian Shiraz, a New Zealand Pinot Noir and an Argentinian Malbec – are produced exclusively for us and represent wonderful examples of the regions from which they come.
Our Marlborough Pinot Noir is the most elegant of the wines and was created by Framingham, who were named Winery of the Year in both 2018 and 2019 by the respected critic and Master of Wine, Bob Campbell. Imagine raspberries, lavender, smoked meats, spiced plum crumble, cherry compote, graphite and cedar all wrapped up in silk and velvet.
Slightly bigger and richer in style, our Tupungato Malbec from Mendoza is an elegant affair with dense blackberry, black cherry and crème de cassis flavours, accompanied by dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, black pepper and sophisticated oak. It was crafted by the family-owned Belhara Estate, whose winemaker studied in Bordeaux and then did stints at fine wine heavyweights like Château Margaux, Mouton-Rothschild, Harlan Estate and Almaviva – Concha y Toro’s collaboration with Baron Philippe de Rothschild.
Contrasting in style to both of the previous wines, our Clare Valley Shiraz – produced by the multi-award-winning Kilikanoon Wine – is deep, dark and full bodied with peppery spices and an intense ripe plum, black cherry and blackcurrant profile that is layered, complex and sophisticated.
