After what may have been the longest summer ever, winter has finally arrived and with it some of the best pop-ups in London. The clocks have gone back, and the temperatures have well and truly plummeted. As we dig out our woolly knits, London too is preparing for the winter.
But it isn’t all doom and gloom as some of the cosiest pop-ups are coming to town. It may be cold outside, but with some of the best winter pop-ups arriving in London soon, we can all take shelter from the chilly weather and enjoy the best the season has to offer. The Montague on the Gardens Ski Lodge
London’s original Ski Lodge is opening its doors again from 14th November 2018-13th January 2019. The venue has transformed into a magical ski lodge adorned with pine trees, snow, reindeer, snowmen and fairy lights. In the spotlight, is the central bar serving a range of drinks including Schnapps and flavoured vodkas. So enjoy some of your seasonal favourites from candied pecans, mulled wine, hot spiced cider and mugs of steaming hot chocolate cocktails. In addition, head into the homely Log Cabin, for a decorative fire and comfy armchairs.
Coppa Club Igloos
The original dining igloos are back again this year at the Coppa Club! Overlooking the sparkling skyline of Tower Bridge and The Shard, these innovative igloos have had a redesign for this winter. Inside, you will find gloriously soft blankets, and a personal sound system so you can tailor your visit.
Novikov’s Mayfair Christmas Market
Due to popular demand. Novikov’s Mayfair Christmas Market will return again this year. For two days only, on Friday 30th November and Saturday 1st December, the restaurant and bar will be hosting the festive market. The whole of Mayfair Place will be closed off to traffic and transformed into a traditional market scene with events for the whole family. Visit Father Christmas on either day, and also watch out for a special appearance by Santa’s live reindeer. Wander round the hand-picked stalls and feast on delicious bites from a range of food and drink stalls.
Winter Rooftop at The Queen of Hoxton
Each year, The Queen of Hoxton amazes us with their themed rooftop space. Similarly, this winter the rooftop has taken a bohemian twist to present The Moroccan Medina. Lady Celeste’s rooftop pop-up is the perfect venue for late night partying in the heart of Shoreditch. Inspired by the Majorelle Gardens in Marrakech, the rooftop has been decorated with giant cacti, and illuminated with fairy lights and magical lanterns. Be prepared for a night of luxury with gin-spiked Casablancan mint tea, hot espresso martinis decadent and a decadent selection of halloumi fries, mezze and tagine. Snuggle up and get ready to hibernate inside the giant wigwam snug!
This year, Winterville in Clapham has everything you need to get into the festive spirit. Winterville is a glowing Christmas wonderland with cabaret performances, fairground rides and a Backyard Cinema. This Nordic pop-up is coming to the Roof Garden at the Queen Elizabeth Hall with stunning views of the River Thames. Take the chance to enjoy a luxurious 90 degrees and steaming stones. Then head straight towards the warming tipples and blankets in the Scandi-inspired bar.
The Alpine Club
Fulham’s first Thameside beach has had a drastic makeover this winter. Now the venue really reflects its name after bring transformed with retro ski chalet vibes. Guests can expect all the traditional comforts such as large heated winter lodges, fondue and schnitzel, mountain landscapes, feasting tables, gondolas and chairlifts, and other entertainment such bauble filled igloos, karaoke, curling, DJ’s and much more. The 200 year old stables and roof garden have been converted into an exciting new Winter Chalet experience for FEST. Visit the venue for a truly heartwarming experience with a comfort food winter menu of jacket potatoes and classic pies as well as soups, Alpine pizzas and stacked burgers, plus a number of sweet treats, warm pretzels and toffee apples. On top of this, is the special winter cocktail menu featuring mulled wine, hot cider and rich hot chocolate, burnt cinnamon and orange old fashioneds, winter sloe negronis, toasted apple and maple syrup martinis and spiced mojitos that will keep everyone warm and toasty.
