The Vibes:
Executive chef Steve Gibbs, previously of Hix and Caprice Holdings, has carefully crafted a menu that focuses on fresh, seasonal, local produce in the heart of prestigious South Kensington. The boutique Kensington Hotel offers its guest and visitors a taste of beautifully balanced meals in its resident Town House Restaurant.
The sophisticated and elegant décor of The Kensington Hotel is enough to bring any Londoners in the door, but the food at Town House is definitely worth the journey.
What we Ate:
We started with the meaty Dorset crab on toast garnished with watercress and a flavoursome crab mayonnaise. Also, I loved the octopus capriccio, a plentiful portion simply seasoned with spring onion and chilli. For mains we had the delicious seafood speical, but for the meat lover, the Town House rib eye steak cooked on a josper grill was so succulent and juicy,
We Recommend:
From the sea, the special on the day was a fish feast fit for an ocean king! Grilled Cornish mixed fish shellfish including prawns scallops with salmon and sea bass. Lets hope you are lucky enough to have this special on your visit!
Our Thoughts:
The restaurant experience, from the service to the ambience is impeccable. The Town House restaurant offers casual dining in a notoriously extravagant postcode. And we agree! Enjoy great quality food in stunning period rooms, with wood panelling, parquet flooring and bay windows creating an air of sophistication, without the hullabaloo!
