Surrounded by 26 acres of serene ‘Capability Brown’ landscaped parkland stands Stoke Place, a Grade II listed 17th Century Queen Anne Mansion house built by a royal chef in 1690.

With all the charm and rural tranquillity of a countryside location but with a stylish and relaxed modern interior, Stoke Place has 39 unique and beautifully decorated bedrooms including a number of junior suites, 10 Garden Rooms in a secluded orchard and Gatehouse rooms .
It is a leading destination for weddings, conferences, business trips, romantic weekend breaks, team building events and parties. After being recently extensively refurbished but still full of original period features, this charming country house now effortlessly combines modern luxury with classical style, creating a truly elegant and unique venue.
We stayed in a gorgeous suite that overlooked the gardens.
We had to get breakfast in bed the following morning with our views of the lakes!

Stoke Place boasts a gorgeous restaurant called The King & Lamb.
Lavish fabrics, stunning hand-crafted lighting and antique ornaments combine seamlessly with hardwood floors and modern fixtures to create an eclectic and ambient setting to enjoy a menu inspired by his signature style, combining simple and traditional British cuisine with French flavours and cooking methods.
To start we went for the Cured Mackerel with Globe Artichoke, Smoked Aubergine Puree, Confit Garlic, Sun blushed Tomato & The Twice baked Salmon Soufflé, Horseradish Mayonnaise, Lemon Puree, Charred Cucumber
For mains we shared the Spiced Lamb Shoulder, Almond and Apricot Couscous, Apricot Chutney, Spiced Jus.
Our Thoughts?
For businesses, the stylish interiors and larger function rooms offer businesses a conference space with a difference. Far from the dull uninspiring interiors of standard corporate meeting rooms, the architecturally pleasant rooms are light and airy with views across the 26 acres of grounds. An on-site Events manager will also ensure each event runs smoothly and the hotel can organise fantastic team-building events such as Chocolate Master Classes, Wine Tasting and Cookery Schools.
The bedrooms are stunning and you really feel at home when you arrive. Only a 40 minute drive from London too!
