The lavish interior throughout the Hotel has been refurbished to the highest quality, maintaining original features and decorative ornate ceilings. Down Hall offers 100 rooms including luxurious feature rooms such as the one we stayed in. The room was spectacularly grand, with beautiful views overlooking the gardens. This spacious room has an elegant bathroom and all the essentials you need during your stay.

We enjoyed a full body Aromatherapy massage in one of the tranquil private spa rooms which is the ultimate way to unwind and release tension! With the treatment, we then availed of the hydrotherapy pool with wellness features, a mood lit sauna and a state of the art steam room with starry night sky feature.

The Grill Room is the ideal spot to enjoy some top quality food. All of the seasonal produce served is sourced locally, even from the vegetable garden on the grounds of the House itself! The contemporary British menu offers an alluring selection of dishes, the perfect way to finish an evening in the hotel!
The ham hock terrine with delicate touches of pickled onion and sage was very impressive, while the sea trout was notably fresh and melt in the mouth.
Our waiter recommended the duck for main, served with black cabbage, celeriac mash and a duck jus. An excellent recommendation was rich in gamy flavour. I opted form the luxuriously creamy parmsean risotto with cured hens egg and lemon persevere, garnished with baby gem lettuce.
The desert was a true highlight. The French toast made with brioche was a sweet sensation, served with a zesty passion fruit sorbet and candied pineapple.
