Located on Wimbledon Broadway, Bombay Delight is an Indian restaurant, priding itself in an array of colourful curries and grilled meats straight from the tandoor.
We were welcomed into the restaurant with cocktails – a Piña Colada and an On Bombay Beach along with some poppadoms. Sauces included were mint sauce, mango chutney and beetroot sauce. The mango chutney was fresh and delicious and my favourite of the three.
For appetisers, we tried the Avo Chaat (one of their vegan options) and the crispy calamari served on mini cart stands! What was nice about the menu is they had many vegan / veggie options to choose from, as well as their main menu, catering to lots of dietary requirements. The calamari was marinated in ginger, garlic & lemon juice, which brought the authenticity of the Indian cuisine to this dish.
To follow, we enjoyed the Chefs Signature Murg Hariyali Masala, which had a coconut milk and green herb sauce base, and the Chana Masala, a chickpea curry. To drink we had a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc recommended by our server. They both had a great spice kick to them and were nothing short of flavoursome.
To end your visit to Bombay Delight, trying their Traditional fried dough balls is a good idea. You can pair it with vanilla ice cream, or their three sorbet flavours (raspberry, lemon, and blood orange) as we did.
For a Monday night, the restaurant was quite busy, giving a nice atmosphere throughout our time there. We asked for some recommendations on drinks, and the staff were friendly and happy to assist with any questions.
