Escape the hustle and bustle of the City at the luxury hotel and restaurant based along Richmond’s riverside. The stunning and elegant Georgian House placed along the thames is the perfect destination for a city escape or weekend brunch. With floor to ceiling windows, this venue exudes natural light making it the perfect spot for the upcoming months. Formerly The Bingham, this boutique hotel has been revamped with bespoke art decorating the walls as well as a shelves upon shelves devoted to penguin classics.
Wind down this summers evening to a cocktail or two on the balcony overlooking the river, or a weekend lunch on the garden terrace – heated and canopied for the evening chill. Either way you will be spoilt for view, the beautifully decorated garden also has a few hidden spots for you to take a moment to appreciate the beauty and nature ahead of you.
Aside from the various dining space, the garden rooms below the main library and drawing room hold up to 120 seated or 150 standing with moveable walls which lead out to the garden terrace. With access to the main garden this is the perfect space to hold the ultimate garden party.
What we ate!
Fortunately, we were allowed to have a sneak peak about the upcoming Summer menu with 9 dishes created by their award winning chef Andrew Cole. Each dish was presented beautifully using all local produce from the area. With each plate’s presentation enhancing its aesthetic appeal, it was almost too good to ruin. The flavours throughout each dish were so contrasting which created a feel of eagerness for what was coming to the table next!
The favourite plates of ours were the Cod and Dark chocolate Tart. The Cod reached the table at a temperature which caught us unexpectedly as most of the dishes were cold. The flavours oozing from the cassoulet make this dish the a delectable choice for the summer being light and fresh for those warmer days. The meringue paired with the fresh strawberry and Ice cream added a crunch to the dish, this also helped to tone down the richness of the chocolate to ensure the plate was not too overwhelming.
What we thought…
