Maria G’s

Maria G’s has quite literally just opened in Kensington and you don’t want to miss out. This Italian restaurant opened this week by the talented chef Robin Gill whose previous entrepreneurial ventures include launching a deli, known as Counter Culture, as well as Sorella an Italian restaurant and finally Darby’s, an Irish style bar and bakery located in Vauxhall. This new restaurant is offering a seasonal summer menu which focuses on the fresh, light flavours of Italian summer in homage of Robin’s time working on the Amalfi Coast. Taste the Penzance red mullet seasoned with delicious flavours of Amalfi Lemon and wild fennel or twizzle your fork into a fresh bowl of  pappardelle pasta with pink fir potatoes, pancetta, egg yolk and sage. For vegetarians and vegans there is also a separate menu available. As for the interior it has been designed with the purpose of offering a spot for friends and family to socialise in a chilled environment, the sort of place you would class as your neighbourhood meet up. Simplistic yet stylish. What more can we credit the restaurant for? Sustainability! The venue does their bit by using local suppliers, avoiding heavy food processes and ditching single use plastic reinforcing not only how ethical the restaurant is but also just how fresh the food is.

The Baring

The Baring focuses on simplicity. Seasonal produce and ingredient led cooking to produce the most delicious pub food. These dishes: Smoked eel & pig’s head terrine, horseradish & daikon and Ricotta gnudi, broad beans & chervil will give you an indication of the sort of thing that will be on the menu. Opening from the 12th July in Islington.
