New London Venues Opening Before Christmas!

With London getting more vibrant the closer we get to Christmas, here are some new restaurants opening in the next few weeks to get you excited!

 

 

Studio Frantzén

Harrods, Knightsbridge Fifth Floor, London SW1X 7XL

 

 

Opens 28th November

 

Studio Frantzén is located at the very top of Harrods, serving Nordic gastronomy with Asian influences – all set in a luxurious and contemporary interpretation of Scandinavian design. Diners can expect a fully immersive experience. There is a buzzing dining area lined with intimate booths, a private dining area, and space at the kitchen counter promising a front-row seat to culinary excellence. And for those looking for a late-night drink, there are two bars – including one with sweeping views over the city’s skyline.

 

 

Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher

222 Marylebone Rd, London NW1 6JQ

 

 

Opens 28th November

 

Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher is marrying the old with the new and honouring the original design, with interiors paying homage to the romantic era of travel, will retain unique characteristics with rich, historic atmosphere. The restaurant will have a Pub Classics Menu featuring a signature Rare Seared Steak Sandwich on Tiger Bread with hot horseradish, onion jam and watercress, or a ‘Posh’ Fish Finger Butty, made with lemon sole goujons, lettuce, aioli, pickles & dill.

 

Bacchanalia

1 Mount Street, London, W1K 3NA

 

 

Opens 24th November

 

More details are being revealed about Richard Caring’s next big Mayfair project, Bacchanalia. The Greek and Italian restaurant certainly sounds like it’ll be as eye-popping as Caring’s other more recent openings, like Sexy Fish and The Ivy Asia. Artist Damien Hirst, who’s worked with Caring on Sexy Fish and The Brasserie of Light, is making four giant artworks for the restaurant.

 

Ikoyi

180 Strand, Temple, London WC2R 1EA

 

 

Re-opens late November 2022

 

Voted in the Top 50 Restaurants in the world in 2021, Ikoyi made the decision to close in October and relocate to a larger and improved space soon to be opened in 180 Strand. The restaurant gained 2-Michelin stars early on with great thanks to their unique menu that has a focus on West-African and Asian cuisine, with influence from all over the world.

 

Mayha

43 Chiltern Street, London W1U 6LS

 

Opening December 2022

 

Mayha is taking over a two-floored space in Marylebone, just up the road from Chiltern Firehouse. The ground floor will be the main omakase space, all set around a curved stone counter. In charge of the kitchen are head chefs Jurek Wasio and Yuichi Nakaya, who have come to London direct from Mayha Beirut (they also previously worked at Yashin Ocean House and Yashin Sushi here in London). Their omakase menu will be sourced from local and Japanese suppliers with sakes, rare spirits, fine wines and niche beers alongside.

 

 

 

TOZI Grand Cafe

Opening 12th December

 

TOZI has long been one of the good places to eat down near Victoria station. Way before any of the Nova openings, this critically acclaimed Italian bar and restaurant was serving up top-tier Venetian dishes. Now the team behind that are heading to south London with their next project TOZI Grand Cafe. This is going to be the all-day spot at Battersea’s new art’otel London Battersea Power Station. The all-day menu kicks off with cicchetti like zucchini fritti and crispy sage with anchovy, moving onto pasta and mains.

 

 

Chet’s
65 Shepherd’s Bush Green , West London W12 8QE, London

 

 

Opening 12th December

The Hoxton is opening a new location in Shepherd’s Bush with Chet’s as its restaurant. Chet’s is a Thai-Americana spot combining the fragrant flavours and smoky textures of Thailand and the surrounding region with comforts from the classic American diner. Expect smoky, spicy plates which pack a punch, with a menu from Kris Yenbamroong, Founder of LA Thai hotspot, NIGHT + MARKET.

 

 

Akub
27 Uxbridge St, London W8 7TQ

 

 

Opening 24th November

 

Billed as a modern Palestinian restaurant, Akub is expected to showcase Fadi’s progressive take on Palestinian cuisine, taking inspiration from the land between the Jordan River, and the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. We’re promised “hot bright salads of the Gaza coastline and deep stews from the rolling hills of Ramallah.”

 

 

Penelope’s
Drury House, 34-43 Russell St, London WC2B 5HA

Opening 1st December

 

Penelope’s, the signature restaurant at the new Hotel AMANO Covent Garden is all set to soon become the runaway coolest spot in London when it opens this winter, mixing up Spanish and Israeli flavours with a Berlin-meets-London sensibility. The restaurant will offer a rich menu of Israeli-Spanish fusion food. Diners can expect made to share tapas-style dishes such as Paella Israeli style with whole lobster.

 

 

Morty & Bob’s
118 College Road , West London NW10 5HD, London

 

 

Opens December 2022

 

This will be the third site for the popular street-food brand after successful launches in Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross in 2018 and then in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush in 2019. If you’re new to Morty & Bob’s, it first materialised in East London’s Netil Market as a food stall famed for grilled cheese sandwiches.

 

 

Shiro

100 Liverpool Street, Broadgate Circle, London EC2M 2RH

 

 

Opens late November 2022

 

Hugely popular in their hometown of Hong Kong, Shiro’s cuisine is inspired by Japan’s foodie hot spots; Ginza, Shinjuku and Shibuya in Tokyo – contemporary but true to the roots of Japanese cuisine, right to the heart of the City of London. Their speciality is crystal sushi, which incorporates a layer of high flavoured jelly to perfectly pair with each bite.

 

 

Jam Delish

1 Tolpuddle Street, Angel, London, N1 0XT

 

 

Opens 16th December

 

Jam Delish is a leading family-owned Caribbean vegan restaurant. Their versatile menu is rooted in traditional Jamaican and Caribbean Island recipes and naturally accommodates a variety of preferences including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Jam Delish’s  growing reputation is built upon not only the food, but the fun filled, customer-focused environment they have created.

 

 

Cavo

The Now Building, Outernet, Denmark St, London WC2H 0LA

 

 

Opens 10th December

 

Cavo will serve up Mediterranean dishes, have a raw fish and carpaccio bar and a wine list that “spans the Mediterranean old and the new”. The restaurant will be in the same building as Tattu, the Outernet. It’s taken over the fourth floor of the development and is going to be – quite literally – huge. Open all day from brunch through to dinner.

 

 

Raffles London at The OWO

Whitehall, London SW1A 2EU

 

 

Opening December 2022

 

A Grade II* listed landmark steeped in history, the Old War Office’s transformative journey will be reborn as The OWO with interiors fitting for such a grand and powerful monument. The hotel is creating 9 new restaurants! At least one of them will be a rooftop restaurant and bar that will overlook Whitehall and the Mall, so be sure to keep an eye out. As for the food itself, they say the restaurants will be “led by world-class chefs and restaurateurs” from around the world.

 

 

Avora
