Teelings Whiskey Distillery | Member Event

Having only ever driven past the very cool stone-fronted building smack bang in the middle of Dublin’s fastest re-generation area, I jumped at the chance to take a group of Miss Jones members’ to Teeling Whiskey Distillery showcase event 2 weeks ago.

Fire dancers greeted us on arrival, as the funky entrance revealed itself and 3 members of the team (Ash, Cheryl and Roisin) welcomed us inside. Whiskey barrels, lighted candles and a hidden walkway led us into the start of the journey through this whiskey maze.

 

The ‘Exhibition Space’ as it is known, shows lots of history of the area, gives you an insight into the Teeling brand story, so we made our way through this area all the way up to the large VATs where the smell of barley hit the nose straight away.

With some of us still enjoying our whiskey cocktails (almost every one of us drinking the cocktails –  though we are not whiskey drinkers – agreed that the cocktails were delish), we were led through more funkily decorated doors and walkways, stairs with facts and figures, half-cut barrels, and plenty of Instagrammable backdrops for some fun photos.

 

 

 

Next up was the Bang Bang bar which was bang-bang-banging! As we were led to the main gallery and bar, we were further impressed by the spacious 1st floor space, with nooks and crannies, space to enjoy your own smaller group, while still feeling part of a larger event. Perfect for a team-wide celebration or occasion.

    

 

More drinks and delicious nibbles were provided by the wonderful Right Company ,who surprised us with some delicious supper bowls. A few of us agreed the chicken thai curry we tasted was one of the best we’ve ever had!

Teeling Whiskey Distillery work with a number of local suppliers so we felt we got really lucky on the night with the Right Company!

‘Wow wow wow, I am so wowwed’ exclaimed one of our members ’I haven’t been blown away by a venue since Posh & Becks were at Luttrellstown Castle!’

Pulse displayed a magical performance for us to finish off the evening for everyone. Our group felt very privileged to be one of a few people on the night who had a sneaky tour of the upstairs rooms. The Alchemy Room has a wonderfully medieval feel to it, and can be set up banquet style, with some nice lighting this room is versatile for any occasion. A short walk from this room, The Finishing Bar offers a gorgeous cosy atmosphere, the perfect space to enjoy a relaxing evening event. The Pot Still Parlour is another surprise that reveals itself at the end of our tour – perfect for a board meeting and/or team meeting. 

A terrace balcony links both rooms together, along with a connecting door and with catering for up to 80 across the whole area, it’s the ideal spot for a unique summer BBQ.  

*Note that while the majority of events that can be catered to at the venue are evening events in the main spaces, it is worth getting in touch with us to see if we can make it work depending on your needs. The meeting spaces have great availability during the day and can be coupled with a tour of the distillery and or/whiskey tasting at the end of a successful day.

   

 

Whiskey tasting, a bit like golf, is often seen as an activity that is more targeted towards male employees, however Teeling Whiskey Distillery offers you an event space that gives much much more than a whiskey-tasting experience, and each one of our group at Miss Jones absolutely loved it.
