I had the pleasure of bringing our members a FAM (Familiarisation) trip to Mount Juliet Estate – Aaron from Devine’s Chauffeur Services drove us from Dublin to Mount Juliet and it is fair to say each and every one of us were blown away with the whole experience. From its world-class equestrian centre, to the beautiful bedrooms to its renowned golf courses and exceptional dining, this estate offers a unique blend of Irish charm and contemporary sophistication.
Arrival and Welcome
Set amidst 500 acres of lush greenery, the estate exudes an air of tranquility and elegance. The warm welcome from the team and house managers to our group set the tone for the rest of the trip. After a tour of Manor House, we sat in Lady Helen’s for their afternoon tea. Insider information – the scones are like nothing you’ve tasted before!Â
We stayed in Hunter’s Yard. The spacious rooms were comfortable, elegant, stylish, and everything from the lamp shade stand to traditional Irish decor, it was blend of comfort and sophistication.Â
Story telling with Des McGrathÂ
As we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in The Saddle Bar, Des joined us to regale stories of the origins of the estate, and how it came in to the ownership McCalmont family – fascinating love stories and family politics make up what is one of Ireland’s most beautiful retreats.
Dinner at The Hound
The estate boasts several outstanding restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Lady Helen Restaurant. We dined in the Hound restaurant and the food was incredible – a delectable menu of Irish and international cuisine. It is obvious that the chefs have a passion for showcasing the finest local ingredients and culinary expertise.
Activities
Mount Juliet Estate isn’t just about golf and fine dining; it also offers a wide range of outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts. While some of our group opted for revitalising spa treatments the rest of us spent the afternoon exploring the estate on horseback. The guided horseback ride took us through woodlands, open fields, and along the banks of the River Nore – really breathtaking views of the Irish countryside.
Corporate Away Days
Mount Juliet is perfect for management and team away days, as well as breakfast meetings and special occasions. There are a number of outdoor locations for team building activities and Summer parties, as well as conference and meeting rooms. One room that stood out to us was The Jack Nicklaus Boardroom Suite. Christmas parties would also be wonderful here.
The Team
The impeccable service team by a staff of 400 people who give it such love, respect and adoration so if you’re looking to immerse your team in the charm of the Irish countryside while enjoying the height of luxury, Mount Juliet Estate should be at the top of your Miss Jones Wishlist!
