REVIEW BY MISS JONES
Located just a short walk from Bank station on Threadneedle Street, Piazza Italiana provides fine dining Italian cuisine in a grand, opulent building. Its central location makes it ideal for after-work dinners, lunch meetings or group dining occasions.
Upon entry, you are greeted with high ceilings and extravagant decorum within this spectacular former bank. Large columns and marble accents can be found throughout the space. The large open plan dining area allows for space between tables, providing a more private and intimate experience.
The large menu showcases delicious seafood dishes such as Cozze e Vongole al Vino Bianco (steamed mussels and clams) and Tartare di Tonno (Yellowfin tuna tartare) for starters, Casarecce ai Frutti di Mare (mixed fresh seafood casarecce) and Ravioli al Granchio Reale (ravioli with crab meat). Other options include meat and vegetarian dishes, serving all dietary requirements.
The cocktail menu includes drinks unique to Piazza Italiana, such as the Camomillati, a vodka-based drink with elderflower and camomile liqueur. For dessert, you can treat yourself to a tart, tiramisu or cheesecake, or go for a lighter finish of sorbet (flavours include lemon, raspberry, mango and passionfruit).
Whether it’s a dinner for two or a larger private dining / private hire event, Piazza Italiana can provide for all, with great authentic Italian food and excellent service.
