Created by Tim Siadatan and Jordan Freida Padella, the pair behind Islington’s much-loved Trullo, Padella is the culmination of their long held dream to open a pasta bar serving fresh, hand rolled pasta with delicious sauces and fillings inspired by their trips to Italy.
Padella offers a simple menu of eight seasonal pasta dishes, combining quality British produce with traditional Italian techniques and flavour combinations. The small-plate size pasta dishes are perfect for sharing, making a tapas-style menu. The pasta is all freshly made on site, passers-by can watch it being rolled out by hand in the window of the restaurant. Split over two floors, diners can either sit at tables or take the more casual option of the kitchen counter seating.
Examples of their seasonal dishes on the menu at the moment are ‘Ravioli of Delica pumpkin and Westcombe ricotta with butter and sage’, ‘Pappardelle with 8 hours Dexter beef shin ragu’ and ‘Stracci with sweet onion, thyme and gorgonzola fonduta’.
